The Greenview Road bridge replacement is a prime example of how precast concrete saves time on the jobsite. The original Greenview Road Bridge was built several decades ago without the use of reinforcing bar and was deemed in need of replacement. Contractors removed the existing bridge carefully as to not disturb the watercourse it spanned – a critical component of bridging over waterways.

Once the excavation was complete and the footings poured, Anchor delivered 6 pieces of Three Sided Flat Top Bridge spans measuring 9.2-9.8 meters and wing walls. An onsite crane picked each span and placed them individually over the watercourse, eliminating construction disturbance to the creek. Because the pieces were prefabricated offsite in Anchor’s indoor manufacturing facility, the bridge pieces were already quality verified to satisfy the Canadian Bridge and Highway Design Code (CBHDC), eliminating the need for onsite forms, redimix trucks and separate quality verification which would normally take days to complete.

With Anchor’s precast concrete bridge system the placement of the entire bridge took less than 3 hours, making the site ready for contractors to infill and pave to get the job done quickly.
