Wage Progression
At Anchor, all new Precast Laborer hires begin at Manufacturing Level 4 (ML4) – $22.50/hour during their probationary period (0–3 months).
Upon successful completion of probation and demonstrated performance, reliability, productivity, and safety compliance, employees advance to Manufacturing Level 3 (ML3) – $24.00/hour, which includes a wage increase.
Advancement is performance-based and reflects attendance, skill development, contribution to team productivity, and alignment with Anchor’s standards of safety and efficiency.
Job Overview
The Precast Labourer plays a vital role in the daily manufacturing of precast concrete products. From mold preparation to final finishing, you will contribute to multiple stages of the production process within a fast-paced industrial environment.
This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and efficient production practices.
Key Responsibilities
Concrete Manufacturing & Production
- Set up and prepare molds and forms for concrete pours
- Assemble and place reinforcement, inserts, and hardware as specified in drawings
- Pour, strip, patch, and finish concrete products according to quality standards
- Mark products accurately with job details and specifications
- Conduct quality inspections before and after pours
- Maintain steady productivity while minimizing scrap and rework
Equipment Operation & Safety
- Safely operate tools and equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts (if certified)
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Identify and report hazards or equipment concerns immediately
- Follow all company and industry safety standards and procedures
Team Collaboration & Efficiency
- Work efficiently with your assigned team to meet daily production targets
- Communicate clearly with team leads and coworkers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, and operational efficiency
Skills & Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma preferred
- Experience in construction or manufacturing is an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong attendance record and team-oriented mindset
- Crane or forklift certification is an asset, but not required.
